Bob Thompson has been building fine crafted acoustic guitars out of West Virginia since 1974. Loved by many players for the creative and intuitive design, Thompson guitar’s have all the fine appointments of high end boutique and legendary brands, with the feel and heart of a guitar built by one man in his shop. Since Bob’s first creations, his son, Larry, has joined him in making some of his own. Bob and Larry have continued this tradition of making beautiful handcrafted guitars since.
This D-35 style dreadnaught is made with Curly Maple back and sides plus a Bolivian Rosewood center piece on the back. With a West Virginia, Torrified, Red Spruce top, this guitar has the large airy tone of a maple guitar with just a hint of the rosewood resonance to sweeten things up. The sound is large but soft and creates a lush tone. Black walnut binding and rope perfling. A 1 3/4” compensated bone nut for perfect intonation. The neck is a three piece, bolt-on, maple and Bolivian Rosewood combination - thin and wide. Absolutely gorgeous and unique instrument, sure to satisfy. Comes with a HSC.
